API keys

In order to use the WPCS API, you need API keys to authenticate your requests.

Creating API keys​

Firstly, you'll need to create an API key and secret for your product.

  1. In the console, navigate to the product you want to create an API key for
  2. Click API Keys in the sidebar
  3. Click the + button in the upper right corner to create a new key and give your new key a descriptive name
  4. Make sure you securely store your API key and secret, as this is the only time you can see your API secret. If you lose the secret, you will have to either recycle it or create a new key.

The API key and secret you just created, are only valid for the product you created them in.

Recycling keys​

If you lost the API secret, or the key has become useless in a different way, you can recycle the key. In the API Keys screen, hit the recycle button and you will be presented with a new secret for that key. The API key itself will remain the same.
